Samsung introduces NC110 and NC210, two low cost netbooks

Samsung played it strong at CES regarding the netbooks they have in plan for 2011. Two of them are  the NC110 and NC210. Notebookitalia.it says that the two 10.1 netbooks will be available in Italy any day now and they’ve got some pictures and video with them.

In contrast with other Samsung netbooks, this duo has more smooth edges around the screen and the screen bezel is a little slimmer than expected. NC110 comes in black and white, while NC210 is black with a silver finish on the inside. Both models come with matte displays.

Specs wise, the NC110 leads the pack. It has a dual core Intel Atom N570 processor (1.66 GHZ ), which is the updated version of the N550. The NC210 sports a less impressive single core N550 Atom processor ( 1.5 GHZ ). Both netbooks have a 1024 x 600 display, 1 or 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, 250 GB HDD, WiFi, Blue tooth 3.0, HD web cam a 6 cell battery (which should go on for 15 hours) and come preloaded with Windows 7 Starter.

There are also 3 USB 2.0 ports (one of them for sleep and charge), VGA slot and a 4 in 1 card reader. Both models have chiclet keyboards and large enough touch pads, and the NC210 has a striated texture on the lid.  Both netbooks look decent and feel comfy to work with, but the specs are nothing to scare you. O

f course, these two netbooks are aimed at a price conscious client, probably students and early stage professionals. Even so, the new wave of AMD Fusion powered netbooks offer better performance for roughly the same price, so it will be interesting to see the chances of the duo on release date.

About that; there are mixed opinions and info about when they will show up, netbookitalia saying that they’ll be available soon in Italy and the same should happen for the German market, but no word about US availability.

No word on pricing, but it should tick around the under $400 mark (300 Euros). Check out the hands on video before you leave.
